From Mirasole to Morimondo
Continuing south, at km 6 here's Basiglio - with its lake, an important wintering avifauna site - and Lacchiarella (7 km), a lovely center with ancient churches, the thirteenth-century Rocca Viscontea (info point Parco Agricolo Sud Milano) and the nearby natural oasis. In 3 km west, even by bike, reach Casarile and from there, continuing along the Naviglio Pavese, in another 3 km you'll reach Binasco, with the fourteenth-century Visconti Castle. Take now Pavese Canal, and in less than 3 km you'll enter the municipality of Zibido San Giacomo, in an area of great natural interest, scattered farmsteads.
The route continues west, touching the church St. Michael (XIII century) and the mill of Segrona. Exceeded (7 km) Gudo Visconti, where lais the church of SS. Quirico and Giuditta ( '400), you'll head south to (3.5 km) Rosate - with the fourteenth-century castle and an info point Parco Agricolo Sud Milano in Contina farm - and , over the Naviglio of Bereguardo, Besate: here you are some old churches and the Visconti villa Modrone. Left to the south (4 km) stays Motta Visconti, after wich the route continues north and and finally reaches Morimondo (5.5 km), with its splendid abbey.
Continuing the itinerary, you'll find Ozzero (other 2.5 km), where frescoes of '400 decorate the church of S . Siro, and then, among a fertile countryside, the town of Abbiategrasso (14 km). Here, the layout of the walls of ancient village has been arranged as a public park, while the basilica of S. Maria Nuova in façade reveals a porch (1497) unfinished by Donato Bramante. The stretch from Besate-Motta Visconti in Castelletto di Abbiategrasso you can cycle or walk along the towpath of the Naviglio Bereguardo.
