Freight Transport in Milan’s Large Logistics Region. A Glimpse at our Future
5 ottobre 2023, h. 15:00 - Palazzo Isimbardi Sala Affreschi
6 ottobre 2023, h. 10:00 - MIND Cascina Triulza, Auditorium
Since the advent of e-commerce, the logistics sector has been undergoing a structural and rapid transformation. The pandemic has accelerated this process, and European metropolitan regions, which play a central role in economic development through territorial coordination, can support decision-making processes aimed at locating exchange hubs.
For this reason, since fall 2022, the Metropolitan City of Milan has initiated a process to develop a plan for sustainable logistics enriched by an exchange and international comparison, thanks to the collaboration of the network of European metropolitan regions, METREX (https://www.eurometrex.org/) .
On the upcoming October 5th and 6th, these institutions will present the outcomes of this process to the attention of all interested stakeholders, inviting them to exchange best practices, with particular reference to the socio-economic sustainability of infrastructure development and the technical-professional skills in this important productive sector.
The meeting to be held on the afternoon of October 5 will be in English. The conference on 6 October will be held in Italian, with Italian/English translation and vice versa.
On the first day the event will be held at Palazzo Isimbardi, the institutional headquarter of the Metropolitan City. On the second day, the meeting will be hosted at the MIND Innovation District (Milan Innovation District) already home to Expo 2015, a regeneration project that covers an area of one million square meters, from which an urban transformation is underway to create a real innovation and research district unique in Europe in terms of size and model.
